The traditional business plan consists of a few specific elements:
An artist statement describes what your work does and what you want to accomplish with it. Statements
are necessary for applications for residencies, grants, academic programs, employment opportunities,
exhibitions, and juried fairs. Galleries, curators, selection committee jurors, collectors, critics, and patrons will
use your statement to understand your work better and decide whether or not to engage with it.
You will need to focus your statement for the audience.
Joining professional organizations is part of your professional persona. You will be able to stay on top of new information and ideas. Professional organizations can offer continuing education, networking, conferences, mentorship and more.
Some organizations for RMCAD careers are:
ASID - American Society of Interior Designers
ASMP - American Society of Media Photography
AIGA - American Institute of Graphic Arts
