Van Dyke Brown Print of Single Exposure Holga Images
120 x 36 in (304.8 x 91.44 cm)
This piece was created by exploring the unique feature of a Holga camera, allowing for a single exposure while progressing the whole roll of film. These negatives document conversations in the dark with chosen participants from campus, including late RMCAD librarian Hugh Thurlow (who the piece is dedicated to), each participant moving multiple flashlights throughout a dark room with no prompting. The works are developed using a Van Dyke Brown technique and was originally installed as a sort of "tower", each print displayed vertically in a column on a single wall.
